Browsing through a magazine, this itty bitty picture of an actual smiling sheep caught my interest. I grew up around Cheviot sheep, a hobby of my dad's. When my husband and I moved out into the country, I knew I wanted to expand my outdoor animal household of chickens and ducks. When I found out these "mini" sheep commonly work as weed eaters in vineyards, I knew they'd fit in on our small hobby farm within our vineyard.
I started out with a cute little Babydoll wether named Grit, a bottle baby. He wound up amongst our feet, in a diaper, in the house (I have a tolerant husband). I was sold on these little buggers and immediately felt I needed to share them and grow more!
My education is in veterinary medicine. When I decided to no longer work in the field and stay home with my kids, my animal "outlet" led me here. I truly hope I can inspire that same spark of passion I continue to experience. There are so many benefits these animals offer us in addition to their wooly smile!
